Platt College continually accepts part-time faculty applications in all disciplines. Part-time faculty members are employed by the college as needed on a quarter-to-quarter basis to carry out instructional functions.
Platt College defines faculty qualifications using faculty credentials. The following credential guidelines are used:
Faculty teaching liberal arts (general education) courses at the undergraduate level (both associate and baccalaureate level):
- doctorate or master's degree in the teaching discipline or master's degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline).
Faculty teaching in undergraduate programs (both associate and baccalaureate level):
- should hold a degree at least one level above that of the program in which they are teaching and must have a minimum of four years of related practical work experience in the subject area(s) taught.
Clinical nursing faculty (baccalaureate level):
- must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in nursing.
