Financial Aid

Serving Denver, Colorado

Welcome to the Office of Financial Aid at Platt College

Receiving financial assistance to attend college can be a burdensome process, but our knowledgeable staff is here to guide you through step by step. Each year, thousands of dollars in scholarships and other aid goes unclaimed due to families not understanding the process or completing information in a timely manner. Remember, our office is here to assist you in every way possible to ensure a rewarding financial aid experience.

To help incoming students deal with the challenges of going to college, we recommend reviewing the information on http://studentaid.ed.gov. It provides relevant, comprehensive information about why you should go college, how to attend, and how to pay for it.

You will also need to complete the FAFSA, go to www.fafsa.ed.gov and complete the steps listed. Our school code is 03014900.

First-time Borrowers

If you have not previously attended college or never completed the Direct Loan process, then you are considered a first-time borrower. The following steps must be completed in-order for the Financial Aid office to process your request for a student loan. Please keep a copy of your loan request form, entrance counseling confirmation page and master promissory note as a record of completing the student loan process. It will also help you keep track of how much you are borrowing each year and through which lender.

Once you have met with the Financial Aid Staff and have received your tentative award information you will need to complete the following.

Step 1: Complete an Entrance Loan Counseling.  Click here to access Direct Loan Servicing Online.

Step 2: Complete the Direct Loan Application.

Click here to complete the application with the Department of Education as the lender. It will provide useful information about the student loan process and your rights/responsibilities as a student borrower. It is important to only borrow what you NEED to cover your educational expenses. If you need additional help in determining your loan amount, please contact our office.

Welcome to Entrance Loan Counseling

Before your school disburses your Federal Loan (subsidized or unsubsidized), regulations require that you complete an entrance counseling session. The counseling session provides information about how to manage your student loans, both during and after college. Click here to access entrance loan counseling.

Returning Borrowers

If you have recently borrowed a Student Loan at Platt College, then you are considered a returning borrower. A returning borrower should have already completed entrance counseling and signed a master promissory note. Please keep a copy of your loan request form for your records.

Step 1: Complete the new Academic Year financing arrangements.

We have provided useful information about the student loan process and your rights/responsibilities as a student borrower. It is important to only borrow what you NEED to cover your educational expenses. If you need help in determining your loan amount, please contact our office.
