Apply for Aid

The first concern students have is how they will fund their education. At Platt College, we think it is important students get a sense of much they would actually pay for their education is to apply for financial aid. Often, students and families are surprised about the amount of aid actually available to them.

How to Apply for Financial Aid

Eligible students applying for assistance must compete the Free Application for Federal Aid (FAFSA). To be eligible for financial aid, applicants must apply for admission, create a federal student aid ID, and complete the FAFSA.

The FAFSA is the application you will use to apply for the federal student aid programs offered by the U.S. Department of Education (ED). Completing and submitting the FAFSA is free and easier than ever, and it gives you access to the largest source of financial aid to help pay for college. Federal student aid covers such expenses as tuition and fees, books and supplies, transportation, and for other related expenses, such as a computer and dependent care. Also, FAFSA data is often used to determine your eligibility for state aid and school aid, and some private financial aid providers may use your FAFSA information to determine whether you qualify for their aid.

In order to receive federal financial aid, an applicant must meet several eligibility requirements that are determined by the information submitted on the FAFSA.  In order to meet eligibility at Platt College, an applicant must:

• Have a high school diploma or a GED certificate
• Be working toward earning a degree in our BSN program
• Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
• Have a valid social security number
• Register with the selective service (if required)
• Maintain satisfactory academic progress once enrolled at the College
