Platt College continually accepts part-time faculty applications in all disciplines.  Part-time faculty members are employed by the college as needed on a quarter-to-quarter basis to carry out instructional functions.

Platt College defines faculty qualifications using faculty credentials.  The following credential guidelines are used:

  • Faculty teaching foundational liberal arts and sciences (general education) courses at the undergraduate level: doctorate or master's degree in the teaching discipline or master's degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline).
  • Faculty teaching nursing courses at the undergraduate programs: at a minimum, master's degree in nursing and a minimum of four years of related practical work experience in the subject area(s) taught.
  • Clinical nursing faculty: at a minimum, master's degree in nursing and a minimum of four years of related practical work experience in the subject area(s) taught.
