Nursing Courses
The nursing curriculum incorporates established professional standards, guidelines, and competencies, and clearly articulates student learning and program outcomes. The standards, guidelines, and competencies are the same for the BSN face-to-face (eCompanion) courses as be for the blended (eCombination) courses.
Achievement of the Program Outcomes for the School of Nursing are measured using five competencies (student learning outcomes) (1. nursing process, 2. nursing informatics, 3. professional standards, 4. evidence-based standards, and 5. interprofessional communication & collaboration). These are based upon the national standards of The Essentials of Baccalaureate Education for Professional Nursing Practice (American Association of Colleges of Nursing (2008) and the Pre-Licensure knowledge, skills, and attitudes delineated by Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN).
The School of Nursing at Platt College offers a 36 month program leading to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The program includes 105 quarter credit hours of nursing courses which include the following nursing areas:
