BSN Admissions Entrance Exam

Purpose:

To outline Platt College's entrance examination requirements, and process.

Please note that all applicants must attend an information session and complete the online application prior to submitting or scheduling an entrance exam.

Policy:

I. Potential applicants who are seeking admission into Platt College must complete the ATI TEAS, SAT, or ACT and submit official scores to the Office of Admissions. Platt College does not require minimum scores for the ATI TEAS, SAT, or  ACT. ATI TEAS scores must be within one year of the intended start date to be considered valid. SAT and ACT scores must be within three years of the intended start date to be considered valid.

II. Platt College offers the ATI TEAS on site and the testing calendar is subject to change. Applicants must contact the Office of Admissions to schedule the ATI TEAS at Platt College. ATI TEAS exams completed at other facilities may be accepted as long as the scores are valid and official results submitted to the Office of Admissions.

III. Applicants have the option of retaking the ATI TEAS with 3 total attempts allowed per year.

IV. The SAT and ACT must be taken at official testing facilities and test scores are to be submitted to Platt College directly from the testing agency. Platt College does not offer the SAT or ACT on site. SAT scores can be requested online at https://sat.collegeboard.org/ and ACT scores can be requested online at http://www.actstudent.org/. The Platt College SAT Code is 3012and the Platt College ACT Code is 7037.

IV. The applicant is responsible for all costs related to the ATI TEAS, SAT, or ACT.

V. Entrance exams are scored using the BSN Admissions Screening Tool by the Admissions Committee during the established review period.

VI. The applicant will be required to provide proof of their identification to be verified by an Admissions Representative upon arrival on the day of his/her scheduled ATI TEAS. This step may also be completed at New Student Orientation for accepted out-of state-applicants. Acceptable forms of identification are:

  • US Passport or US Passport Card, Permanent Resident Card, Driver’s license or ID card issued by a State or outlying possession of the US (provided it contains a photograph or information such as name, date of birth, gender, height, eye color, and address), ID card issued by federal, state or local government agencies or entities (provided it contains a photograph or information such as name, date of birth, gender, height, eye color, and address), Voter’s registration card, US Military card or draft record, Military dependent’s ID card, US Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Card, Native American tribal document, or Driver’s license issued by a Canadian government authority.

VIII. Applicants that require ADA accommodations will be referred to the Office of the Academic Support and Career Services. Please reference Policy 03:05:00 ADA for additional information.
