Receiving a Refund After Withdrawal from the Program

Who Can Get a Refund?

A student may withdraw from the program in writing to the Registrar and is entitled to a refund (if applicable) on or before 30 days from the student’s date of determination of withdrawal with the Registrar.  Platt College, for refund purposes, defines one quarter by 11 weeks.  Depending on which week of the quarter you withdraw from the program, the following chart outlines the amount of refund you can expect less the application fee and any tuition and fees from any previous quarters.

The calculation of weeks concludes each Sunday prior to 12 midnight MST.  In other words, if a student withdraws from the program on or before 11:59 pm MST during week 1 of the quarter, then s/her will be considered withdrawn during week 1.

Veterans Addendum

The refund of the unused portion of tuition, fees, and other charges for veterans or eligible persons who fail to enter a course, withdraw or discontinue prior to completion, will be made for all amounts paid which exceed the approximate pro rata portion of the total charges that the length of the completed portion bears to the total length of the course. The proration will be determined on the ratio of days or hours of instruction completed to the total number of instruction all days or hours in the course.

How and When Will I Get My Money?

All refunds are issued within thirty (30) days of the date of determination, as determined by the Registrar's official paperwork, that the student withdrew.  Refunds, if no balance is owed, are issued in the form of a check.
