Risks and Assessment

Platt College conducts risk assessment in accordance with the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act either on an annual, quarterly, or monthly timeframe depending on what is being audit.

Areas of assessment include:

  • Employee Training and Management
  • Information Systems: (Network and Software Design, Information Processing, Storage, Transmission, and Disposal)
  • Designing and Implementing Safeguards: (Detecting, Preventing and Responding to Attacks, Intrusions, or Other Systems)
  • Overseeing Service Providers

Platt College's Policy 07:19:00 Protection of Consumer Information Under the Gramm Leach Bliley Act requires that covered institutions, such as Platt College, develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive information security plan that includes administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect the information covered by the GLB Act. The plan must describe how Platt College protects customer information.

For more information regarding the GLBA requirements at Platt College, contact Mark Finken, Coordinator of IT Services.
