Student Cancellation and Refund Policy

Student's Right to Cancel

A student, beginning quarter one of the nursing program, has the right to cancel their program enrollment at Platt College in writing to the Registrar on or before the end of the first week of classes of each quarter (defined as Sunday at 11:59 pm) to receive a refund of all money paid less the application charge of $75. Refunds are made to the student on or before 30 calendar days from the student’s date of determination of cancellation with the Registrar.

Veterans Refund Policy

The College has and maintains a policy for the refund of the unused portion of tuition, fees and other charges in the event the veteran or eligible person using VA benefits fails to enter the course or withdraws or is discontinued there from at any time prior to completion. Such policy provides that the amount charged to the veteran or eligible person for tuition, fees and other charges for a portion of the course shall not exceed the exact pro rata portion of the course/program bears to its total length. The exact portion will be determined on the ratio of the number of days of instruction completed by the student to the total number of instructional days in the course/program.

Return of Title IV Funds

Up through the 60% point in each payment period or period of enrollment, a pro rata schedule is used to determine the amount of Title IV funds the student has earned at the time of withdrawal. After the 60% point in the payment period or period of enrollment, a student has earned 100% of the Title IV funds they were scheduled to receive during the period.

For a student who withdraws after the 60% point-in-time, there are no unearned funds. However, Platt College must still determine whether the student is eligible for a post-withdrawal disbursement (PWD).  Platt College must return unearned funds for which it is responsible as soon as possible but no later than 45 days from the determination of a student’s withdrawal.
