Student Resources
A variety of resources to fit the needs of our students that make Platt College their academic home. If you need services that aren't mentioned here, or anywhere else, let the Academic Support and Career Services Office know and we'll get you to the right place.
Child Care
While Platt College does not offer child care, there are plenty of available child care providers in the Aurora area. Some options for students to consider regarding child care include:
- Many of the Aurora K-12 Public School Settings offer before and after school care.
- Helpful information regarding choosing and finding childcare can be found at Child Care Aware and Care.com providing in and out-of-home care.

Lost and Found
Hey, we get it-somedays you just lose everything. Don't worry-lost and found for the College is located downstairs in the Student Services area. If you are missing a personal belonging, see Darla Dolph or Barb Jones located in the Student Services Suite on the first floor.
Commuting to Campus
Platt College is located on Parker Road and is easily accessible by car, light rail, bus, or bike. Located at the corner of Parker Road and East Cornell on the west side, and Parker Road and Dartmouth on the east side, the campus is easily accessible from I-225 North and South, Exit 4.
Parking for motorists and bicyclists is free of charge at Platt College. The College has ample parking located at the front and side entrances of campus. Additionally, a bicycle stand is located on the side entrance of campus.
The H Line of the light rail station, which runs North and South, is less than two miles from the campus at the Nine Mile Station. Running from 4 am to as late as midnight on weekdays, the light rail runs minutes apart to ensure an easy commute before and after most classes.
Bus routes run consistently to the Nine Mile Station located at 3181 South Parker Road. Current bus schedules that run near the campus located at 3100 South Parker Road are outlined in the RTD's current bus schedule for the area.
Counseling Referrals
While we do not have a professional counselor on campus, we do provide students with counseling services that are available in the area. We realize that balancing college with employment and family can sometimes be challenging. Because all of our students at Platt College are enrolled in nursing, each student must have current health insurance at the start of his/her program and throughout. The Academic Support and Career Services Office is available to help secure confidential counseling referrals that coincide with individual insurance plans.
OpenCounseling.com lists available counselors in the 80014 zip code that provide services for individuals who may need counseling services for all areas of life including domestic violence, family counseling, addiction, LGBT, and more.
Additionally, Tri-County Health Department (TCHD) serves over 1.3 million people in Adams, Arapahoe and Douglas Counties, and offers over 60 programs/services ranging from birth certificates, immunizations and health care referrals to restaurant inspections and infectious disease investigations, from 11 offices in this 3,000 square mile area.

Budget and Personal Financial Planning
Not only do we want you to be successful as a full-time student, but we want you to also be fiscally responsible while attending College. Sure our Financial Aid Department can guide you through the process of preparing to attend College, but we are talking about being fiscally responsible long before you graduate.
The Academic Support and Career Services Office offers free lunch and learns for all students regarding topics such as: (1) budgeting while in College, (2) making sound financial decisions for the future, and (3) how to be fiscally responsible once you graduate. The College has partnered with the local credit union who guest lectures during lunch and learns to help students with financial planning and making sound decisions. For more information on upcoming lunch and learns for the quarter, contact Darla Dolph in Academic Support and Career Services.
Student Handbook
Still need information that hasn't been covered above, don't worry we have you covered-the Student Handbook serves as a guide to answer all your questions about everything from classroom expectations to policies and procedures, and more. The Student Handbook may be downloaded 24/7 from the College's website. If you need a hard copy, please contact Barb Jones, Executive Administrative Assistant.
