Employees must wear masks when entering and exiting the building.  Additionally, all employees are asked to wear masks in common shared areas such as shared lunch areas and restrooms.  Employees are asked to eat lunch in their offices or off campus and not in shared areas.  For employees who work in shared areas (i.e. faculty offices and the library) a designated lunch area will be made available that follows CDC guidelines. 

While employees may hold meetings, we ask that they do so from their individual desks using the phone system or zoom.  Meetings in person must follow 6 feet separation guidelines. 

Platt College is committed to keeping employees safe. One of the main ways to ensure this is by encouraging all faculty, staff, and student workers to stay home if they are sick.

Paid Leave

• Senate Bill 205 provides two weeks of paid sick leave to people infected with COVID-19 or who must care for a loved one who catches the disease. The time can also be used to care for a child or dependent family member whose normal place-of-care has been shuttered because of the pandemic.  This Bill begins in January 2021; however Platt College offers paid time off over the 6 days as mandated by the Bill.

Working Remotely

• According to the Colorado Department of Higher Education Considerations and Recommendations regarding COVID-19, employees over the age of 65 and/or otherwise at increased risk of severe illness may continue to work remotely.  At risk is defined by the CDHE from the CDC as: chronic kidney disease, COPD, immunocompromised state, including organ transplant, obesity BMI over 30, serious heart conditions, sickle cell disease, and Type II diabetes
