The purpose of this committee is to review applications.  The committee reserves the right to select applicants with the best qualifications who meet the minimum criteria.  This Committee consists of one full-time nursing faculty member, one full-time foundational liberal arts and sciences faculty member, and one full-time staff member.

Student and Career Services Committee

(Reporting Channel = Dean of Nursing)

The Student and Career Services Committee develops, reviews, and recommends policies for student activities and services, such as referrals for tutoring, counseling, housing and transportation recommendations, campus events, and student activities. The committee provides enforcement of procedures and regulations to maintain appropriate standards of conduct within the student community. The Committee consists of 6 members, including 2 faculty members, 2 students, and 2 staff member.

Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress

Satisfactory academic progress (SAP) is defined as progression through the academic program within a prescribed time frame while maintaining a sufficient grade point average to demonstrate growth in knowledge and skills. Lack of satisfactory progress may jeopardize the student’s ability to complete their program of study. Platt College expects students to progress through the program based on satisfactory academic progression standards. The School of Nursing at Platt College individually determines the criteria requirement for SAP.

Exit Loan Counseling

Federal regulations require all borrowers to attend loan exit counseling session when they are either graduating, leaving school permanently, or do not intend to attend any school again for at least six (6) months or more. The exit counseling session is designed to help you understand your rights and responsibilities as a student loan borrower and help you successfully meet your repayment obligation.

Entrance Loan Counseling

Entrance Loan Counseling is a one-time requirement for all first time borrowers at Platt College. The goal of this counseling is to help you understand what it means to take out a federal student loan. The Entrance Loan Counseling can be completed online in 15 to 20 minutes from any secure internet connection. You must complete Entrance Loan Counseling before the College can make the first disbursement of your federal loan.

Platt College has established the following minimum standards for student laptops. We recognize that many students begin their academic programs with very serviceable laptops.  If students wish to purchase a laptop prior to coming to Platt College, or use their existing laptop computer, it should at least meet the requirements listed below.
